Luk 7:11 Ezután elment egy Nain nevű városba, és vele mentek tanítványai nagy sokasággal együtt. Luk 7:12 Amikor közeledett a város kapujához, íme, halottat hoztak kifelé, egy özvegyasszony egyetlen fiát, és a városból nagy sokaság követte. Luk 7:13 Amikor az Úr meglátta az asszonyt, megszánta, és így szólt hozzá: “Ne sírj!” Luk 7:14 Azután odalépett, és megérintette a koporsót. Akik vitték, megálltak, ő pedig így szólt: “Ifjú, neked mondom, kelj fel!” Luk 7:15 Erre felült a halott, és elkezdett beszélni; Jézus pedig átadta az anyjának.

Ha a történetet megnézed itt egy halott gyermek, akit anyja sirat. A temetési menet már a városon kívül a temető felé halad. Az asszonyról nem ír semmit az Ige, hogy hívő lett volna, vagy nagy adakozó, vagy gyülekezeti kórustag. Valószínűleg nem volt hívő sem. Nem tett semmit, nem kiáltott Istenhez, kétségbeesett, reménytelen helyzete mégis megérintette Istent. Nem azért mert ez az asszony tett volna bármit is az Úrért, hanem azért mert Isten ilyen: könyörülő.

Tehát meglátta, megszánta majd Jézus olyasmit tett, ami botrány volt Törvényileg: megérintett egy halott miatt tisztátalanná vált koporsót. A menet azonnal le is állt. A Törvény szerint azonnal tisztátalanná kellett volna válnia. Valószínűleg mindenki elhallgatott. Ebben a csendben, szinte behasított a hihetetlen mondat: kelj fel! És a halott életre kelt!

Minket is már vittek temetni. Egyre erősödő rothadó hullaszagot árasztott már a létezésed, mikor a teremtő Isten, a Fiú, oda lépett hozzád. A halott nem keresi a megoldást, a halott az halott. Ha valakihez odalép Isten az örök élet üzenetével és az illető megtér, az kegyelemből van, azért mert Isten úgy döntött h megérint. Jézus pontosan ezt tett érted is: meglátta a temetési menetet, a koporsót, benne Téged és szánalomra indult. A golgotai keresztet abból a fából készítették, amiből a te koporsódat. A te koporsód a bűneid. Azok zártak be és öltek meg. Jézusnak oda kellett lépnie és megérintenie a bűneidet. Bűnné vált Jézus, tisztátalanná-noha Ő nem volt az. Odalépett hozzád, a holttestedhez. Miért? Mert megérdemled? Nem, azért mert megszánt. Mert meglátott és megszánt. Az Atya a saját tulajdon fiát nem kímélte, hogy Téged megérinthessen és feltámaszthasson. Új életet adjon.

Azt kérdeztem, h hogy hívják a naini ifjút: úgy, hogy Zsolt, Gábor, Szabina, Eszter, Éva, András, Noémi… Te meg én vagyunk a naini ifjú, akikhez Jézus odalép és szólt felőled: kelj fel, élj új életet – Velem!

What’s the name of the Young Man of Nain

Luke Chapter 7:11-15 (KJV) 11 And it came to pass the day after, that he went into a city called Nain; and many of his disciples went with him, and much people. 12 Now when he came nigh to the gate of the city, behold, there was a dead man carried out, the only son of his mother, and she was a widow: and much people of the city was with her. 13 And when the Lord saw her, he had compassion on her, and said unto her, Weep not. 14 And he came and touched the bier: and they that bare him stood still. And he said, Young man, I say unto thee, Arise. 15 And he that was dead sat up, and began to speak. And he delivered him to his mother.

If you look at this story, here you can see a dead man, and his mother crying after him. The funeral procession is already out of the city passing to the graveyard. The Word says nothing about the woman, whether she was a believer, a great giver, or a member of a choir of the church. Probably she wasn’t even a beliver. She didn’t do anything, did not cry out to God, but her desparate, hopeless situation touched God. Not because she did anything to the Lord but just because God is like this: compassionate and graceful.

And so Jesus noticed her, had compassion for her and then he did something scandalous according to the Law: he touched a coffin which was unclean because of a dead man. The funeral procession stopped immediately. According to the Law he should have been proclaimed unclean in that very moment. Probably everybody fell silent. Suddenly an amazing sentence broke the silence: Arise! And the dead became alive!

We’ve been also carried out as dead men. Your whole being with a smell of rotting corpse as God, the Creator, the Son stepped to you. The dead are not looking for a solution for the dead is dead indeed. When God steps to someone with the message of eternal life and this person repents, this happens because of His grace, because it was God who decided to touch you. Jesus did the very same for you: He saw the funeral procession, the coffin, you inside the coffin and he was moved with compassion. The Calvary cross was made of the very same wood of which your coffin was also made. Your coffin is made of your sins. These are those which closed you up, encompass you and killed you. Jesus needed to step up and touch your sins. Jesus became sin, uncleand – however He was not sinful. He stepped to you, to your dead body. Why? Because you deserved it? No. But because he had compassion for you. Because He saw you and was moved with compassion toward you. The Father God spared not his own Son, to touch you and raise you from the dead. To give you Life.

I asked myself what’s the name of the Young Man of Nain? His name was Zsolt, Gábor, Szabina, Eszter, Éva, András, Noémi… You and me, we are the Young Man of Nain, to whom Jesus steps and says “Young man, I say to you, get up and live  a new life – with Me!”
